Oscars 2015: Disney Wins Two Awards!

Congratulations to Disney for winning two Oscars during the awards ceremony Sunday night! (Personally, I think Into the Woods and Guardians of the Galaxy were robbed, but I’m glad Disney won at least two.)

Big Hero 6, of course, took home the prize for Best Animated Feature Film – much deserved!

After How to Train Your Dragon 2 won the Golden Globe for the same category, I prayed Big Hero 6 wouldn't get robbed of the Oscar.

And Feast, the short film that premiered before Big Hero 6, took home the companion award for Best Animated Short. Again, well-deserved.

Speaking of Big Hero 6 (for the fourth time), today you can pick up your copy on Blu-ray and DVD. I’ll definitely be getting one myself!

See you all real soon.

Fall Out Boy Releases New Single 'Immortals' for 'Big Hero 6'

Big Hero 6 opens on Friday, and Disney has been doing plenty of promotion for the movie. For the past few months, they have been doing a countdown to the premiere.

Disney also posted the music video for Fall Out Boy’s song “Immortals,” which will be featured in Big Hero 6.

Michelle (my roommate) and I watched the music video together and caught our reactions on film. Unfortunately, we thought the actual music video so…dull that we kind of began discussing other things.

But I think you’ll find our video humorous, nonetheless.

I am seeing Big Hero 6 on Sunday. I will definitely be writing a review for a blog post, with the possibility of filming a vlog review as well. Either way, tune in again very, very soon to hear/read my thoughts on Disney’s next feature film!

Are you going? Let me know in the comments below!

'Big Hero 6' Hiro and Baymax to Join Disney Infinity!

Big Hero 6 hasn’t even been released yet (out this November), but Disney has already announced protagonists Hiro and Baymax will join the Disney Infinity game!

This isn’t the first time Marvel characters have been announced for the Disney Infinity game.  When Disney Infinity 2.0 was first announced, it was actually bundled as Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes and was to come with an Avengers starter pack.

Now, Hiro and Baymax are ready to join in the super hero fun!

...maybe.

‘Big Hero 6’ Directors are Secretly Superheroes

Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Facebook page posted that the animation production for Big Hero 6 has wrapped up, and the directors took the opportunity for a nerdy photo.

Big Hero 6 opens in theaters this November.  Watch the trailer below.

I'm so excited to see Baymax in the film! He's already won
my heart :)

‘Big Hero 6’ Teaser Makes You Smile

When I first mentioned Big Hero 6 on this Blog (back in August), I stated how it wasn't my kind of movie. But I added a stand-alone “Yet.”

Now, my “Yet” was right.

Today, the first trailer – a teaser trailer to be exact – made me smile and laugh.  Overall, it intrigued me, and I know when November rolls around, I’ll be excited for Big Hero 6!

Here's the synopsis, as provided by Disney (and taken from IMDB):

Brilliant robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada finds himself in the grips of a criminal plot that threatens to destroy the fast-paced, high-tech city of San Fransokyo.  (Molly's note: yes, that is a combination of the two cities you're thinking of.)  With the help of his closest companion, a robot named Baymax, Hiro joins forces with a reluctant team of first-time crime fighters on a mission to save their city.

Baymax is the robot we meet in this teaser, and I'm in love with him already -- especially when he chased that soccer ball!

Your thoughts?

Remember: teaser trailers are produced to gain initial audience interest, not give us substantial information about the film.

Disney Animation News from D23!

So this past weekend, I was up north at my grandma’s house.  But over in California, something else, something much more amazing, was happening.

The D23 Expo.

For those of you who don’t know, D23 is the ultimate Disney fan club, and they now have free membership by the way!  (Which for some reason, I cannot seem to be able to buy, and it’s really frustrating me to no end.)

Now, a lot happens at the D23 Expo, so I’m not going to cover it all.  But I am going to cover what I think is one of the most important events: the animation panel.  This is when Disney reveals the upcoming animated films, which for me is very exciting.

So let’s dive in!
