Kristen Bell Brings Political Twist to Mary Poppins

Kristen Bell (Anna from Frozen) has added another Disney credit to her list of achievements, but this time, it’s a parody.

And it’s actually pretty darn funny.

In this Funny or Die video, Kristen portrays Mary Poppins who is leaving the nursery, like she does at the end of the Disney film.  However, this time, she’s quitting for good – because of minimum wage.

My favorite line is definitely the last one...which I won't repeat here, for obvious reasons.

So the question is: Mary Poppins is a Democrat?

PS: TDM wanted me to point out that Mary Poppins would be cashing in pounds, not American dollars.  I, on the other hand, am mentally fangirling over the hidden Breyer cameo that no one else in the world will probably care about.

It's a Jolly Holiday with Amy Walker!

Amy Walker is a YouTube sensation known for her video 21 Accents, in which she effortlessly moves from one accent to another.  It’s really quite amusing.

Today, I discovered this other video of Amy’s – in which she sings “Jolly Holiday” from Mary Poppins, impersonating the animals from the barnyard scene as well as Mary herself.

Personally, I liked how she mentioned Julie Andrews (Mary Poppins) was one of the big influences that got her into accents – Julie is my biggest idol!

She did a splendid job!  If you aren’t familiar with the original, I’ve put it below.  The similarity is uncanny!  (If you want to view right where Amy began her version, skip to about 1:38 and enjoy.)

I don’t know if I’ve said it before, but this is one of my favorite musicals and Disney films!

Ever Ever After!

While I do love Owl City, I love Carrie Underwood even more.  Honestly, outside of Disney, I think Carrie and Brad Paisley are my two favorite singers.  Oh wait.  Actually, they’d be tied for second after Julie Andrews (my idol!).

So if I’m excited about Owl City and Disney collaborating, don’t you think I’d be even more excited about Carrie and Disney working together?
