'Inside Out' Coming to Disney Infinity 3.0!

Hold the phone! Your favorite emotions are taking over the Toy Box!

Image via starrdork.tumblr.com

That's right: Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger and Disgust from Pixar's Inside Out can be collected and played with in Disney Infinity 3.0! (And yes, they made another version of the game.)

I'm only slightly disappointed in the design of the characters. For me, they look almost clay-like, thus different from other characters already available in Disney Infinity. Maybe it's really just me, but just take a look at Sadness...see it?

No? Okay. Moving on.

Check out these images of what the figurines supposedly look like -- and I say "supposedly" because I'm not sure whether or not they're official images from Disney Gaming.

(You see, Sadness should look more like her figurine, no?)

DCP Update: Location, Housing, and Classes

Hey y'all!

I haven't posted a Disney College Program update since spring break, when I had my character audition (which I didn't pass, by the way). With graduation over and Disney just around the corner (two more weeks -- holy shiz!), I was finally able to create a brief video to update family, friends and followers about the status of my program.

So. Let's address each section individually, shall we?

Location: Yes, I am working in the lovely Grand Floridian Resort and Spa! I'm super thrilled to be
The Grand = home :)
Image via a Google search.
working at the same resort I stayed at last summer, giving me an inside look at such a beautiful hotel. My exact location is Gasparilla Island Grill, doing quick service food and beverage. This could mean cashier, cleaning tables, running food -- pretty much anything, as long as it's not cooking. My position will vary day-to-day, but after working in the campus dining hall for three years, this should be no sweat! I will continue to audition for performing roles throughout the program -- stay tuned!

Housing: As I said in the video, I will not explain the process of DORMS, because honestly, I'm not the best source of information concerning technical DCP stuff. But I can say that normally you're supposed to be able to link up with at least four girls. I don't know what the problem is, but the program is only letting you link up with two girls right now, making three including yourself. Therefore, my group of six (including me) split in half. Michelle, Dana and I requested to room together. I believe Dana requested one random roommate, with the second choice of three random roommates -- so there's a possibility we find ourselves with Miranda, Kaysee and Rebecca! I'm sure whichever random roommate(s) we get will end up being great. I'll post again as soon as I know exactly where we're living, and I'll be sure to film an apartment tour, too.

Classes: There are three types of classes offered through DCP. The first kind comes with homework, tests and college credit; the second is broadly covers a major or field of study; and the third is major-specific. Because of my recent college graduation, I don't need any credits and didn't want to pay the small fee. Therefore, I am only taking the second kind (seminar). As of now, I'm still technically on the waitlist for a leadership seminar. In August, I plan on signing up for the marking seminar and show production.

Well, there ya have it, folks! Please comment with any questions, and I'll be sure to respond!

Again, I'm super thrilled to be doing this program and that my loverly followers can be a part of it with me!

See ya all real soon.

New Halloween Stage Show, Featuring 'Hocus Pocus,' Coming to MNSSHP!

At the beginning of the month, I reported that Villains' Mix and Mingle would not be performing during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this year. At the time, details on the replacement show were unannounced.

This week, Disney Parks Blog delivered an early Halloween treat: the new stage show features the Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus!

This will probably be their reaction to the overwhelmingly overjoyed fan community...

From Disney Parks Blog:

In “Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular,” the mischievous Sanderson Sisters from Disney’s “Hocus Pocus” return to the mortal world for one night during the Halloween season. With only a few hours to run amuck, the three sisters decide to use their magic to throw the best, evil Halloween party this side of the graveyard!

With the help of the Disney villains, Winifred, Mary and Sarah gather together sinister shadows, nefarious nightmares and the power of their frightful friends to conjure the ultimate Hocus Pocus Party Potion and cast a spell on everyone in the Magic Kingdom Park. “Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular” features appearances by Dr. Facilier, Oogie Boogie, Maleficent and other great Disney villains, along with dancers, projections and special effects that combine to make this new show a not-to-be-missed Halloween treat.

Unfortunately, the witches will not be mingling with guests after the show, though their villain friends (reportedly) still will.

I, for one, am excited to see this well-loved but overlooked villains come to Walt Disney World!

The show runs September 15-November 1, on select nights.

‘Frozen’ added to Paint the Night Parade

Hong Kong Disneyland’s new nighttime parade Paint the Night is coming to Disneyland for its 60th anniversary, with a few new additions, among them being a brand-new Frozen float.

Disney released this video of the behind the scenes progress on the float, which is largely based off Elsa’s ice castle.

To get an idea of the parade as a whole, here’s a video of the entire parade. The LED lights are simply incredible – I’m sure the recording doesn’t do them justice!

New Abominable Snowman Effects, Animatronic on Disneyland's Matterhorn Bobsleds

For Disneyland's Diamond Anniversary (just three days away!), several rides have been getting updated. Even the Matterhorn Bobsleds.

Mainly, a few new Abominable Snowman effects and a whole new animatronic.

Image via seeyoulatertrashcans.tumblr.com

This is a vast improvement from the original animatronic (nicknamed "Harold"), which was mainly stationary and extremely robotic in motion.

Now, if only the Yeti at Expedition Everest could get a reboot....

***UPDATE***

Inside the Magic has provided great videos of both sides of the full ride with the new effects and animatronic. I'm not an expert on the Matterhorn, but I do believe this is a good improvement!

Some Matterhorn enthusiasts have complained about the lack of Harold's signature yells -- which you can hear quite clearly in the above interview video. However, if you play very close attention to any of the videos featuring the new animatronic, you can faintly hear his signature scream. Honestly, it should be amplified, to make it much more frightening than the current halfhearted growl.

Disney Releases Photo, Video of Hatbox Ghost

Disney released a backstage look at how Imagineers brought the Hatbox Ghost back to life after a nearly 50 year absence from Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion.

Image via Disney Parks Blog.

You can kind of get an idea of how what improved technology resurrected this happy haunt, and while I personally think it’s slightly lazy, it’s still very impressive.

The Hatbox Ghost (or “Hatty,” as he’s called by his cult following) was added to the Haunted Mansion just in time for Disneyland’s Diamond Celebration. No official word yet on whether or not he’ll be added to Walt Disney’s version of the ride as well.

See ya all real soon!

Today: Hatbox Ghost and his Triumphant Return!

After almost 50 years, the wait is over.

Concept art via the Disney Parks Blog.

Perhaps you’ve heard about the Hatbox Ghost? He appeared in the Disneyland Haunted Mansion when it first opened in 1969, but due to the guests being able to figure out the effect, he was removed almost immediately.

But he’s back! Just in time for Disneyland’s Diamond Anniversary.

And we’ve got the video to prove it. Take a look.

Originally, the effect was that the Hatbox Ghost had two heads—one in his box, the other attached to his body. Different lights would go on and off. But guests were close enough to decipher how the effect worked, so he was removed and never brought back.

Despite this, he’s remained a huge fan favorite, so it was no surprise that Imagineers perfected how to raise him from the dead…well, not literally: he’s still a ghost, ya know.

If you’re not sure how they’re doing the trick now, I think I know, but I’ll only tell you if you ask.

Otherwise, enjoy the magical resurrection of the Hatbox Ghost!

Rumor: Is Dream Along with Mickey Closing?

Dream Along with Mickey, the stage show in front of Cinderella Castle is closing for refurbishments July 19-August 22, due to renovation and expansion of the hub.

However, the new rumor is that the show may not open after that August date--instead, that the show may be replaced.

I doubt they'd be this enthusiastic over the news.

I don't necessarily disagree with this rumor: the show is nearly 10 years old, having debuted back in 2006.

It could be time for a change.

But, I also don't think the show is dated. If it does indeed reopen, I wouldn't be disappointed. It's still a fun and entertaining story to this day, with plenty of beloved characters, despite the songs getting stuck in your head quite annoyingly easy.

I'll keep you posted on this rumor as it develops. Nevertheless, I promised Young Disney Freak I'd Skype her the show during my DCP--it's her favorite--so I better make sure to do that before July! (Also, I'll try and videograph the potentially final performance.)

However, there is a stage show confirmed to be closing for good.

Villains Mix and Mingle is performed at night during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Honestly, as much as I love all the Halloween-themed events and music at Walt Disney World, Villains Mix and Mingle may be my favorite.

So when I read that it wouldn't be performed this September and October, my heart dropped. I think the show is a fun, slightly racy way to bring out the villains--or rather, the more adult, darker side of Disney. Whatever show replaces it better incorporated the villains.

After all, it's their night.

What do you think of these rumors and changes? Comment below!

See ya all real soon...and by the way: long time no see!
