‘Frozen’ Fun Commercial Features Animatronics Singing 'For the First Time in Forever'

Walt Disney World’s “Frozen Summer Fun” has (sort of) moved to Disneyland, with some similarities and some differences.

To promote this latest addition to the Frozen craze, Disney created this TV and online spot, which features classic animatronic characters and others singing “For the First Time in Forever.”

“Frozen Fun,” ends May 15, as revealed in the end of the ad. However, this ending date could (is likely to) change, if the program becomes popular. (If it’s like the Walt Disney World event, Disneyland’s will be incredibly popular.)

Scan the QR code or click to book!

My favorite was the Grizzly Peak bear mountain, followed closely by the bellhop. How about you?

The best part about the commercial is that Disneyland actually reprogrammed the featured animatronics, just for this ad. Below, get a backstage glimpse at the filming of the Tiki Room segment.

First Look at Harambe Theatre

The cast of Festival of the Lion King recently visited their soon-to-be-open new home, the Harambe Theatre, in the Africa section of Animal Kingdom.

Here’s a video provided by Disney Parks Blog highlighting the new theatre building, with glimpses of backstage areas.

Video from YouTube.

Kind of weird to see the elephant, giraffe, Pumbaa and Simba animatronics so still and silent...but I liked how Pumbaa was trying to get a word in at the end!

Costumes for Festival of Fantasy!

We just got a glimpse at a few of the fantasmic floats coming to Magic Kingdom’s newest parade, Festival of Fantasy (debuting in March this year).

Now we get a look at the (also) fantasmic costumes!

Video from YouTube.

If I were to describe these costumes in two words, those two words would be, simply:

Colorful awesomeness!

Thumbs up!
This is a cool costume, but I have no idea what float it's for!

But obviously there’s more to this post than just that.

Wow, there’s plenty of color and pop in these costumes!  Mickey’s Soundsational Parade is my favorite (by far) for both the music and the costumes.  Well, Festival of Fantasy is looking like a big contender!  Provided that the music is just as great as these costumes!

Honestly, I do love all the costumes in the clip, but my favorite is definitely the “Ravens.”  I’m assuming these winged bad boys will be walking alongside the steampunk Maleficent float.  Man, would I do anything to own one of those pairs of wings!

Similar to the “Ravens,” the fire-themed, phoenix-like costume looks freaking awesome!  No idea what float it could be for, but I’m excited to find out.

I think my third favorite are the revamped Lost Boys costumes.  They adhere to the originals while giving them a more hipster look, which I think works perfectly well!

As for the rest, well: colorful awesomeness!

can't hold it in anymore
Reaction: Just can't hold it in anymore!

What do you think: is there a costume design you like best?

When I See An Elephant Fly!

Well, now I've seen everything!

I guess I was wrong in a previous post because….

Dumbo isn't the only flying elephant apparently! Video from YouTube.

Thought this was too cute not to share.  I’ll admit, I meant to share it sooner, closer to when I posted the other post, but oh well.

ttfn!

(PS: I’m sorry I haven’t posted in awhile.  I have been really bored and tired with school, so I've procrastinated on homework and watched movies instead or hung out with my future roommates.  I honestly forgot about posting!)

Every Role a Magical Role

At the Disney Parks Blog, there is a video series called "Every Role a Starring Role at Disneyland Resort."  I'm going to share on of those videos, but I changed the title.  I don't know why.  I just did.

You remember that I shared (on Facebook) a few weekends ago that Fantasmic! recently celebrated its 20th anniversary?  Well, this recent "Every Role a Starring Role at Disneyland Resort"/"Every Role a Magical Role" video shows some backstage footage while interviewing one of the Fantasmic! stage technicians.

The one thing that I found a tad annoying was that the James (the stage tech) seemed to refer to Maleficent as "the Queen."  Really.  It annoys me how people often refer to her as the Queen.  She's a fairy!  And an evil one at that.

But The Disney Mermaid wants me to say that he could be referring to the Evil Queen since she does appear in the show while the video footage just happened to be of Maleficent (for the link, see number 27).

I have to agree with this guy that Fantasmic!, even though I haven't seen it in person yet, is one of the best shows Disney has created for its Parks. It combines all sort of fantasmic/fantastic elements to create a show you won't forget!

Mickey giving us a few thumbs-up in this video seems to show he agrees!

The show must be really good to get two thumbs-ups!
