None other than Dory herself!
Surprised? Well,
Dory’s probably already forgotten about it, so to be honest, I think
Ellen may be even more excited. Check out
this video of her sharing the news on
her show.
If you’re slow at getting your Disney news (and I admit, sometimes I am too!),
Finding Dory is the 2015 sequel to Pixar’s
successful film Finding Nemo. All I know so far is
that the sequel will (obviously) focus on Dory, about a year after
the first film, with Dory learning some lessons about family. We’ll learn why
she was alone when Marlin found her, and this time the movie will take place
along the California coastline.
After years and years of asking Disney and Pixar for a sequel, Ellen said:
"’I have waited for this day for a long, long, long, long, long, long time,…I'm not mad it took this long. I know the people at Pixar were busy creating 'Toy Story 16.' But the time they took was worth it. The script is fantastic. And it has everything I loved about the first one: It's got a lot of heart, it's really funny, and the best part is -- it's got a lot more Dory.”’
Surprisingly, I am really excited for the new movie too. As
I shared via Facebook, at first I didn’t get it – Nemo’s been found, what could a sequel possibly be about? – but once I learned that Dory is taking center stage for the sequel, I got excited!
Who doesn’t love Dory (or Ellen, for that matter)? Seriously she’s my
favorite character from the film. As long as it’s a decent sequel (so yes, I am a bit hesitant, as always), I will be super pumped for 2015!
But the big question is,
who’s ready for this?
Yeah, Ellen,
too soon. Too soon.
ttfn!
Just keep swimming today!
