Disney at Graduation

(I happened to have some time so here's my first surprise post!)

As I've shared in an earlier post, I've gradated from high school.

And when you're a Disney Freak graduating, you're bound to get some Disney stuff at your graduation.  Check it out.

From Grandma -- A Fellow Graduate

My other grandparents had already given me their gifts, as well as my aunt.  My dad's mom (the grandma who needs a name) still hadn't.  She wasn't staying at my house but rather at my great-aunt's, so she wasn't here at home with me as often as the others.  Thus she hadn't had the chance to give me her gift yet.

As soon as the house was ready (the floors cleaned, the carpets vacuumed, the bathrooms cleaned, the toys picked up) for our expected guests, we all plopped down on various couches to rest.

Grandma arrived and promptly placed a gift bag in my lap.  Inside I found (other than tissue paper)....

Peanut butter M&Ms.

"Because you were surprised I hadn't brought any candy with me this time."

A notebook.

"To keep track of what you spend at college.  Remember that article I read?"

And a fellow graduate.

It was Mickey! Complete with his own
diploma!

"Because you love Mickey."

It was perfect.

On the table where I displayed my achievements (artwork, writings, etc.),
I had Mickey stand behind my own diploma. He looked perfect there.
As soon as I have enough time or my hiatus is over, expect a post
on him.

What's a Party Without...Cake?

Only a little bit after I received Mickey, MMM and my aunt headed out to pick up the balloons for the Open House and also my cake.

When they returned, they called me into the kitchen: "Come see your cake!"

I was a bit surprised to find almost everyone standing around the table, waiting expectantly.  As soon as I took the lid off the box, I realized why.

A Mickey cake!  MMM got it just for me.
Everyone wanted to see my reaction -- I burst
out into a huge grin!
Yes, that blue space was originally my face and yes,
it also had my real name, but as you know....
Thanks to my Grandaddy for doing some editing on this picture.

What's even better: it just happened to match my new Mickey plush.
