‘Frozen’ Summer Fun at Hollywood Studios!

Starting July 5, “Frozen Summer Fun: Live at Hollywood Studios” is coming to Walt Disney World!
Olaf would be so happy.

Frozen Summer Fun” consists of special Frozen-themed events that will come with regular park admission.  The fun lasts from July 5 to September 1.

The best part?  Kristoff is going to make an appearance!

Image from Disney Insider.

From Disney Insider, here are some of the highlights:
  • Olaf on Summer Vacation – Olaf the snowman is having the time of his life on his very first summer vacation! He chimes in throughout the day to keep everyone updated on all his adventures. Plus, you can pick up your very own Take-Along Olaf from locations in the park, so he can join you on your summer vacation. And when you share your photos with Olaf on social media, be sure to tag them with #OlafSummerVacation. They may just get selected to appear in that day’s grand finale!
  • Anna and Elsa’s Royal Welcome – At 11:00 a.m. each day, Elsa and Anna arrive in Hollywood as part of their goodwill tour of neighboring kingdoms, making their way down Hollywood Boulevard in a horse-drawn sleigh. Kristoff is along for the fun, too, joined by a flurry of skaters, skiiers, ice cutters and more! The entire procession culminates in a special moment at the Sorcerer’s Hat Icon Stage to officially welcome the visiting royalty to this kingdom of Hollywoodland.
  • For the First Time in Forever: A “Frozen” Sing-Along Celebration – Cool down inside the Premiere Theater, where Anna and Elsa join the Royal Historians of Arendelle for a fun and comedic retelling of the unique history of their Kingdom, filled with delightful, sing-along moments from “Frozen.”
  • Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post & Frozen Funland – Inside Soundstage One, Oaken and his cousins have created a Frozen Funland filled with cold weather activities, unique photo opportunities, and more! There’s a frozen pond with ice skating demonstrations, wintertime fun for kids in the “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” play area, a “big summer blowout” with plenty of “Frozen” merchandise, and special “Frozen”-inspired food and beverage offerings.
  • “Coolest Summer Ever” Dance Party – Starting at 5:30 p.m. each day, a dance party takes over the area around the Sorcerer’s Hat Icon Stage, with a DJ, live band, and more! The band plays a variety of classic and contemporary summer rock & roll hits, as well as a cool, rocking medley of “Frozen” favorites. It’s going to be hot!
  • “Frozen” Fireworks Spectacular – Everything wraps up at 9:45 p.m. when Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf come together at the Sorcerer’s Hat Icon Stage for a grand finale to the day’s festivities, kicking off an awe-inspiring fireworks display set to the glorious music of “Frozen!”

Just a note, the royal welcome is not Elsa and Anna’s rumored coronation into the Disney Princess franchise.

Vote for a New Name for this Maleficent Plush!

I ordered this Funko Pop! Maleficent plush from Disney Movie Rewards, and she arrived while I was in Florida.

Video from YouTube. The Disney Freak’s Blog original video.

I’ll have another post with pictures and everything, but before that, I wanted your help in choosing her new name!

Stock image from Amazon.

The first two options are my mother’s suggestions, which I think are pretty cute, but I offered another option for you to suggest your own idea.

What name should we give Molly's new Funko Pop! Maleficent plush?

Upcoming Pixar Short: ‘Lava’

After moving The Good Dinosaur to 2015, the next Pixar feature film will be Inside Out.

Both images from Disney Insider.

(And quick side note, that means this is the first year without a Pixar feature film since 2005…)

Just announced, the short to play before Inside Out will be titled Lava.  Below is the official synopsis:

Inspired by the isolated beauty of tropical islands and the explosive allure of ocean volcanoes, Lava is a musical love story that takes place over millions of years.

Lava is to be directed by James Ford Murphy.

What do you think?  I’m curious about the “musical love story that takes place over millions of years” part, but Pixar has always created phenomenal short films, so I’m not at all worried!

See you all real soon.

My WDW Trip Update: Content Coming Soon!

We went to Walt Disney World on Tuesday-Thursday, with Wednesday being our all-day Magic Kingdom day.

I took lots of videos, Bestie and her mom took lots of photos, and I did my best to keep my Instagram and Twitter filled.

Of course, it will take me a little bit to go through all the content, but I'm planning on having lots of posts and YouTube videos for you all!  In fact, I've decided to start a Flickr account for all the photos we took.

Give me a few days and then I'll blow up your feeds!

Thanks!

‘Frozen’ Pre-Parade Float at Disneyland!

In WDW's Festival of Fantasy parade, Anna, Elsa and Olaf appear at the end of the princess float, the first in the parade.  The trio was added last minute due to Frozen’s unexpected popularity.

At Disneyland, the trio was just given their own pre-parade float in front of Mickey’s Soundsational Parade.

Here are three videos of the float’s debut.

Videos from YouTube.

Image from dlandlive.com

My thoughts?  Since I love these three to death (no surprise there), I’m excited for them to get their own float and everything, but it’s kind of disappointing.  Of course, it’s merely a pre-parade float, but I was kind of hoping for some singing, not just instrumental. The design is beautiful, but Olaf wasn't quite as animated as I expected.  No mouth movement at all?

However, I am hoping that this pre-parade signals their expansion in the Festival of Fantasy parade.

Your thoughts?

We landed in Orlando around 1 pm (EST) on Friday.

We'll be in Walt Disney World Tuesday night and all day Wednesday.  Until then, we're enjoying the beach right outside Bestie's family's condo.

The True Meaning of ‘Let it Go’?

Today, I present to you another “Let it Go” cover.

I know what you’re thinking: “Ugh, not another one!?”

Hold on there.  This is a different kind of cover.

It’s (almost) the truth behind the meaning of “Let it Go” (like what I did there, Frank?)

Dewey Roth and his wife, Debbie.
profile and used with permission.
Now you’re interested?

First, let me give you some backstory.  My friend/mentor Dewey Roth is one of the funniest people I know.  I first met him at Giant Step Theatre, where he was choreographer/director/actor/"Stupid Stories" teller…what was your title anyway, Dewey?

He writes a blog called Almost the Truth, in which he discusses, well, almost the truth about things.

And there’s always a touch of humor.

Now, without further ado, here is Dewey’s interpretation of the true meaning of the “Let it Go” lyrics.

Enjoy! (You will.)

TV Guide’s Battle of the Fans: Favorite Villain!

It’s not often I post about Once Upon a Time, but hey.

Regina/the Evil Queen was just voted the “Favorite Villain” for TV Guide magazine in their Battle of the Fans Facebook contest!

Image from TV Guide's Facebook page.

I actually really like Regina’s character (at least, what I’ve seen and heard of her).  Would probably say she’s my favorite character on OUAT.

Who’s your favorite OUAT character?  Is Regina your favorite TV villain?

See you all real soon.

Revealed: ‘Frozen’ Funko Pop!

Just today, the newest additions were announced for the Funko Pop! line of vinyl Disney figures.

And the figurines are….Frozen!

Image from popvinyl.net

You may recognize the style and look of these characters – Mini Maleficent is also a Funko Pop! model. This, of course, means I absolutely love Funko Pop! figures.

Meaning, I can’t wait to get my hands on these Frozen ones, especially Elsa!

According to the popvinyl.net, the Frozen figures won’t be released until July.

(Birthday present, Mom and Dad?)

Humorously, J.J. Abrams Confirms Millennium Falcon

Yesterday, TMZ.com leaked photos of the iconic Millennium Falcon being constructed for Star Wars VII.

The Internet exploded -- with Star Wars fans rejoicing.

Then director J.J. Abrams confirmed the leaked photos via Twitter, with plenty of humor.

Recognize the background?

Star Wars fanatics know it as the board for Dejarik, which is the game played aboard the Falcon in the earlier films.

Abrams has a good sense of ironic humor.

What are your thoughts on the three upcoming Star Wars movies?

SDMT Completes New Fantasyland!

On May 28th, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train roller coaster opened to the general public at Walt Disney World.

Video from YouTube.

This marked the completion of New Fantasyland, a year-long expansion of Magic Kingdom.

This map of Magic Kingdom now includes the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

Today, the Disney Parks Blog posted this graphic that details a few fun trivia about the new attraction.

I can’t wait to ride the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in a little over a week!

See you all real soon.

If a Mom Sang 'Let it Go'...

I hereby dedicate this to my own mother, as she loves this stuff…..

From popcrush.com:

[O]ne woman from the Granger Community Church in Granger, Indiana decided to give Queen Elsa the voice of a mother — one who is at the end of her rope with her young children. Dressed in pajama pants and a bathrobe as she performs on a stage with props like a couch, toys, and a laundry basket, she hilariously laments the difficulties — but ultimately, the joys — of being a mother.

Maleficent Nail Design by TDM!

When we saw Maleficent on Thursday, TDM wanted to do my nails for me.  (She also planned to do my eye makeup, but thank heavens we ran out of time.)

Below is a video of her/our Maleficent character nail design.  Of course, we based them off the original Maleficent, not Angelina Jolie’s version!

Animal Kingdom: Parade Ends, ‘Lion King’ Returns

Two big changes happened at Animal Kingdom this weekend.

May 31: Yesterday, Mickey’s Jammin Jungle Parade had its last run as the Animal Kingdom daytime parade.  No replacement parade has been announced.

Watch the final parade run below:

Video from YouTube.

June 1: Today, the live show “The Festival of the Lion King” returns to Animal Kingdom, in its new home at Harambe Theatre.

So if you’re visiting Animal Kingdom this month, expect these changes!

See you all real soon.
