‘Frozen’ Fun Commercial Features Animatronics Singing 'For the First Time in Forever'

Walt Disney World’s “Frozen Summer Fun” has (sort of) moved to Disneyland, with some similarities and some differences.

To promote this latest addition to the Frozen craze, Disney created this TV and online spot, which features classic animatronic characters and others singing “For the First Time in Forever.”

“Frozen Fun,” ends May 15, as revealed in the end of the ad. However, this ending date could (is likely to) change, if the program becomes popular. (If it’s like the Walt Disney World event, Disneyland’s will be incredibly popular.)

Scan the QR code or click to book!

My favorite was the Grizzly Peak bear mountain, followed closely by the bellhop. How about you?

The best part about the commercial is that Disneyland actually reprogrammed the featured animatronics, just for this ad. Below, get a backstage glimpse at the filming of the Tiki Room segment.

Once Upon a Time in New Fantasyland….

So I’ve talked with you a bit about the show Once Upon a Time on ABC.  I know I hadn’t said much, but that’s because I’m not very familiar with the show.  So this post is not going to be about my opinions (well, just a little).

DisneyParks recently posted two new videos on their YouTube channel.  The Evil Queen/Regina from the show “tours” New Fantasyland and begins brooding her plans for taking over.  Though it’s funny and interesting, at heart you know it’s really just an promo.

And at first, it may seem like the perfect matching – a fairytale show selling a fairytale kingdom amusement park – but keep in mind that Disney owns ABC.

Here’s the promo below, and the second video is of some behind the scenes stuff.  Wouldn’t that have been cool to have been at the Parks the day of the filming?  UPDATE: My fellow blogger Sara pointed out in the comments below that all the extras were actually entertainment cast members, so can you imagine what it would have been like to be a cast member available that day?

Both videos from YouTube.

Okay, time for some opinions – but I promise not a lot!

I actually really do enjoy Lana’s interpretation of the Evil Queen.  Granted, I haven’t seen much, but from this and the stuff I read about and see, I really dig her character.  Just my kind of bad guy.

The ending is also hilarious.  Even I was laughing.

"Seriously?"
Great way to end it.

And was that David Ogden Stiers narrating?  Sure sounded like it!  But then again, probably anyone could pull that voice off.

See ya all real soon!

Just a Topiary

DisneyParks just put a new video on YouTube, advertising the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, but it’s so amusing, you don’t really think about the fact that it’s an ad in a way.

Why is It amusing?  Just some good old Disney magic being used for innocent pranking and fun.

Personally, I loved this little kid.  His little jaw drop and everything.  Made me crack a huge smile.

Annie Leibovitz’s Rapunzel

Just today, the Disney Parks Blog released the newest portrait for the “Disney Parks‘ ongoing Disney Dream Portrait series” (the Disney Parks Blog post).  In short, this series is of different Disney characters portrayed by familiar celebrities for Disney Parks ads (e.g., I found one in an issue of O, The Oprah Magazine).  The portraits are all taken by the spectacularly-skilled photographer Annie Leibovitz.  I’m hoping to eventually get a post out of all the portraits, probably as soon as the series is over (will that happen?).

Note how I said “portrayed by familiar celebrities.”  Usually these celebrities are well-known actors and actresses.  But it seems Disney has decided to include singers.

You’ll see what I’m getting at.

Is That Who I Think…?

Apologies for the fact that this is technically old news, but I figured some of you haven’t heard about it.  So might as well share, eh?

It’s always interesting when you see a familiar Disney character used outside of the company…oftentimes without Disney’s permission.  For example, I wrote a post about a familiar-looking mermaid among colored and shaped rubber bands.

Speaking of that mermaid, she’s popped up somewhere else.

And it really irks me.
