Dory Returns in 'Finding Dory' International Trailer

The first trailer for Finding Dory dropped three months ago and recently, an international teaser trailer has been released!

And while this trailer doesn't reveal any plot details, it does provide a chance to be reintroduced to our favorite blue tang, Dory, and humor Ellen DeGeneres brings to a beloved character.

The trailer may be short, simple and only 35 seconds, but it's also a hilarious 35 seconds.



I'm sure you'll agree with me that the last few lines are the best.

Are you excited for Finding Dory? The movie swims into theaters June 17 this year (and July 29 in the United Kingdom)!

More and More Dory in First 'Finding Dory' Trailer!

My absolute favorite Pixar movie is Finding Nemo, and my favorite character from the film is Dory.

Because Dory is my spirit animal.

So when Ellen DeGeneres, who voices Dory, announced the upcoming sequel would be all about our favorite blue fish, I freaked out!

We've been waiting forever to find Dory. Yesterday, we found her for a brief moment when the trailer debuted on Ellen's TV show!

Honestly, I'm freaking out so much that it's hard to write coherent thoughts. And as you'll see in my trailer reaction video (COMING SOON) below, I couldn't really do more than laugh. Because Ellen as Dory makes me genuinely laugh.

And that's exactly why I'm excited for this sequel. We're getting more and more Dory.



It'll be interesting to see how Pixar handles a movie about a fish who notoriously cannot remember...anything, basically. How ever will the plot -- I mean, our main character -- stay focused? But I put my faith in Pixar and Ellen. I know this will be an amazing movie.

It's not like we've been waiting more than ten years for this!

Time's Up: 'Alice Through the Looking Glass' Trailer

Time is, indeed, up.

Because the trailer for Alice Through the Looking Glass has finally arrived, and it's pretty fantastic.



I have not actually seen Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, but I have seen the Disney classic and love the original story. But even so, I can still appreciate a trailer like this -- a movie like this -- because just look at those visuals!

Already we can tell that this is going to a visually-stunning movie. It has a stellar cast from the first film, adding Sacha Baron Cohen as Time, so we know the acting will be good. And from the chilling rhyme narrative, it sounds (heh heh) like it'll be a pretty good storyline!

Favorite part of the trailer? Helena's wonderful laugh as the Red Queen, just in those last few seconds of the video!

Alice Through the Looking Glass opens May 27 next year.

'The Good Dinosaur' International Trailer: Hear the Dinos Speak!

The first trailer for Pixar's upcoming The Good Dinosaur never highlighted the voices behind the dinos. But now we get to hear them in the first international trailer for the film!

Experience a Single Moment in Pixar's 'The Good Dinosaur' Trailer!

Pixar dropped the first trailer for its upcoming movie The Good Dinosaur, in theaters on Thanksgiving. The theme behind the trailer is "a single moment," and how such a moment can change history and even, everything.

One thing many fans (including myself) are a little unnerved by is the idea of pairing hyper-realistic backgrounds with cartoony characters, such as Arlo. I even noticed some of the dinosaurs, and especially that colorful lizard, are quite realistic when compared to Arlo.

Such a pretty little guy.

I can understand if it's a marketing thing -- a more cartoony Arlo will translate better to toys and won't scare children -- but at least make the rest of the film cartoonish in some sense.

Also, anyone else getting a The Land Before Time vibe? I'm excited to see how Pixar surprises us!

Disney Drops 'The Good Dinosuar' Teaser Trailer!

Pixar's The Good Dinosaur was supposed to open in theaters last year but was pushed to this year after a major rewrite of the script and replacement of the original director. That's why we had no Pixar movies last year, and why every Pixar movie has now been pushed back.

After all that, we've finally gotten a first look at the movie with the arrival of its teaser trailer. Take a look!



I, for one, am eagerly counting down the days till Thanksgiving!

Watch the 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Teaser Trailer! (Plus, LEGO Version!)

There’s been a lot of hype about Star Wars: The Force Awakens, especially since the first teaser trailer was released this morning!

Thirty select movie theaters aired the teaser today, and it was also released on iTunes and YouTube.



I had my sister, The Disney Smart One, watch it with me, so that she could hypothesize about the new film in the franchise. She had lots to say but to sum up: as of now, TDSO is optimistic.

‘Into the Woods’ Trailer Features Singing and Johnny Depp’s Face

When Disney released the teaser trailer for Into the Woods, fans were disappointed the teaser didn’t highlight the musical aspect of the movie, specifically: the characters singing.

Now, Disney has released the first official trailer for the movie. This trailer is just as spell-binding as the teaser – but even more so because this time, the key characters are singing.

And it’s simply beautiful.



I’m so excited to finally see Johnny Depp’s costume and make-up, and Streep’s final notes are…chilling. Still also in love with Streep’s make-up.

But to be honest, I’m in love with this whole movie, from the music to the gorgeous set.

There is a lot of star power behind this film. Couple that with Sondheim’s music, and you’ve got one heck of a movie. Disney isn’t risking anything by having Into the Woods open Christmas Day.

Just like with Les Miserables in 2012, the movie theaters will be packed.

Pixar's ‘Inside out’ Teaser Trailer is Fantastic!

(I haven’t posted much about Pixar’s Inside Out, and I’m not really sure why…)

Today, I received an email from Disney, and the subject line read “Watch the new teaser trailer for Disney/Pixar’s Inside Out” – I had no idea there was going to be a trailer released!

I absolutely love how they used footage from each of their movies, especially the shots for “sadness.” Who doesn’t shed a tear seeing Sulley hug Boo goodbye, or Woody saying, “So long, partner” as Andy heads off to college?

And speaking of Sadness, who else wants to give her a big hug at the end?

All in all, bravo, Pixar.

Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. ‘Big Hero 6’ Directors are Secretly Superheroes

‘Into the Woods’ Teaser is Here and it’s Gorgeous

The first teaser trailer for the upcoming Into the Woods debuted today.  And it’s gorgeous.



The casting is fantastic.  Lilla Crawford (who recently starred in the Broadway revival of Annie) will be amazing, Johnny Depp is my favorite, and I’m speechless about Meryl.  Her make-up, her portrayal of the witch, her acting skills…so excited!

I also can't wait to see more of this!

Already I can say I am in love with the music.  I’m ready to buy the soundtrack now.

Yet, there has been criticism for the teaser not including any of the vocal music.  You see, Into the Woods is based on a Broadway musical, so it does seem odd Disney didn’t highlight that here.  However, all I can say is that remember, this is only a teaser.  We may get to hear the singing in the actual first trailer.

Here’s the synopsis of the musical film, from Inside the Magic:

“Into the Woods” is a modern twist on several of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales, intertwining the plots of a few choice stories and exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. This musical follows the classic tales of Cinderella (Anna Kendrick), Little Red Riding Hood (Lilla Crawford), Jack and the Beanstalk (Daniel Huttlestone), and Rapunzel (MacKenzie Mauzy)—all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife (James Corden & Emily Blunt), their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the witch (Meryl Streep) who has put a curse on them.

Confession: I’m not very familiar with this musical, but researching it these past few months sure has made me wish I was more familiar with it!

‘Big Hero 6’ Teaser Makes You Smile

When I first mentioned Big Hero 6 on this Blog (back in August), I stated how it wasn't my kind of movie. But I added a stand-alone “Yet.”

Now, my “Yet” was right.

Today, the first trailer – a teaser trailer to be exact – made me smile and laugh.  Overall, it intrigued me, and I know when November rolls around, I’ll be excited for Big Hero 6!



Here's the synopsis, as provided by Disney (and taken from IMDB):

Brilliant robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada finds himself in the grips of a criminal plot that threatens to destroy the fast-paced, high-tech city of San Fransokyo.  (Molly's note: yes, that is a combination of the two cities you're thinking of.)  With the help of his closest companion, a robot named Baymax, Hiro joins forces with a reluctant team of first-time crime fighters on a mission to save their city.

Baymax is the robot we meet in this teaser, and I'm in love with him already -- especially when he chased that soccer ball!

‘Cinderella’ Teaser Trailer Reveals…Not Much

Five days ago, Disney released the teaser trailer for the upcoming live-action retelling of Cinderella…and unfortunately, we don’t get to see much of the actual film.

As I've mentioned before, teaser trailers aren't really meant to give much of the film’s plot away, just to attract initial audience attention.  Still, this one couldn't be more boring – great, a glass slipper.

I do like the butterfly touch, though.

Tell me something I don’t know.

To be honest, I’m not really excited for this movie at all.  There are so many retellings of the Cinderella story that it’s kind of become old and repetitive.  A look at the plot suggests similarity to Ever After, starring Drew Barrymore.

What will make this retelling different? 

That’s what I’d like to know, Disney.

Molly and Mini Maleficent Discuss “Maleficent”

The Disney Freak’s Blog is hurriedly approaching its second anniversary, and I know that for a really long time I have been ranting about how unexcited I am for the upcoming “Maleficent” movie starring Angelina Jolie (due in 2014).

And I also realize that I have been putting off a post with the reasons why I’m unexcited.

I’m not going to be getting to that post quite yet (sorry, again), but I did take the time to do a vlog about why I’m unimpressed (and a bit pissed) about the trailer that came out about a month ago.

Finally: Our First Real Look at “Frozen”!

And this time, the trailer’s in English!

Ten days ago, I saw on my Facebook feed that a new Frozen trailer (technically the first for us American folks, since we’ve only had a teaser and then international trailers) would be put online today!  So all morning (that’s a lie – all 10 days actually!) I eagerly waited for it to show up.

When I saw The Rotoscopers had posted a link for the trailer, I knew “it is time!”

SHE'S SO FREAKING COOL WHEN SHE "THROWS" THE ICE FORWARD!

Sven is still adorable, of course. Olaf is still the comic relief.

Sven's determined face = love.
Olaf's sledding = laughs.

We finally get to see more of Kristoff, the mountain man who helps Anna.

But the main focus this time around is Anna, our protagonist.  She’s quirky, awkward, clumsy, quick-thinking, funny, an all-around good character.  I loved the little interaction between her and Hans (his horse Sitron is so cute!), and her time with Kristoff looks like it will be quite entertaining indeed.  Oh, and the snowball part – pretty darn funny!

French Trailer for “Frozen” with Translations!

Today, I discovered the latest trailer for Frozen but yet again, it’s in another language.  This time: French.  But the video below has English subtitles!

The good and bad thing is that this trailer is the exact same one as the Japanese version (disappointing) but at least now we get to understand what they’re saying.  (Well, I’m trusting that whomever posted the trailer translated it correctly… I don’t know French. You?)

So we’ve had one English teaser and two foreign trailers for this film…  C’mon Disney: release an English trailer with new footage!  Get me even more excited!

First Look at “Saving Mr. Banks”

I can't stop laughing!

Not only did it make me laugh, but as soon as I finished my recent The Lion King post, I knew I had to do one on the new Saving Mr. Banks trailer.

For those of you who don’t know, Saving Mr. Banks is the untold story of Walt Disney’s 20-year mission to get the rights to Mary Poppins and make the novel series into a movie.  However, before he could do that, he had to get on the good side of the series author: P.L. Travers, a no-joking-around English lady.

A wonderful first glance at the first time Walt is being portrayed in a feature film!

To be honest, I don’t know much about the Mary Poppins backstory, though I have read all the books as a child, so it was interesting to see this trailer and learn a bit more.  And trust me, I’m excited for it, really I am.  However (you should know by now that I’m always hesitant, even with Disney), Walt Disney was a very important figure, so Tom Hanks has some big shoes to fill. 

I just hope he doesn’t disappoint.

Exciting “Frozen” Japanese Trailer!

Sometimes, I just go onto YouTube, start off with a video I know, and then just click on intriguing video suggestions in the sidebar.  I can end up in weird places, which I quickly click out of.  But today, I saw something I just knew I had to click on.

This is what I was waiting for in a trailer for Frozen.  Exciting, curiosity-sparking, thrilling.  Only problem is, I can’t understand a word they’re saying!  Translator, anyone?

Oh, well.  Not understanding the dialogue or words on the screen is okay as long as I get to see some footage from the film.

And also?  Elsa looks awesome.  With a capital A.
